“ACT ON CLIMATE” Rally, Feb 28th, RI State House, 3pm

Please join us at the “ACT ON CLIMATE” Rallly on February 28th at 3:00pm at the RI State House

The Environment Council of Rhode Island will hold a rally and press conference to urge the General Assembly and the state government to take three actions on climate change.

  1. Support the Global Warming Solutions Act H5444 to create mandatory greenhouse gas reduction goals
  2. Support the "Ask First" Straw bill (H5314 & S0202) to reduce plastic waste
  3. Celebrate that RIDOT rescinded the proposed cuts to bike and pedestrian projects in the State Transportation Improvement Program. Urge the state to comprehensively address greenhouse gas emissions from transportation.

The event will feature comments from elected officials and the environmental community.

What: Press conference on state climate change actions
When: Thursday, February 28th at 3:00pm
Where: Entrance to the Rhode Island State House (Smith Street side), 82 Smith St., Providence, Rhode Island 02903 (rain or shine)
Who: Environmental and clean energy advocates, cyclists, and elected officials

After the rally, you can “Act on Climate” by:

  • Going inside the State House and testifying in support of the Global Warming Solutions Act (H5444) and Ask First Straw Bill (H5314) in the House Lounge at the Rise of the House (when session ends, likely after 4:30pm)
