Press Conference: Opposition to Burrillville Invenergy Power Plant, March 8th

Press conference announcing the solidarity of the entire Rhode Island environmental community against the building of the Invenergy gas-fired power plant in Burrillville.

Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 10:00am in the House of Representatives Lounge, 2nd floor at the RI State House.

The Environment Council of Rhode Island, as the voice of the environmental community in Rhode Island, strongly opposes the proposal to build a new, long-lived fossil-fuel plant in Rhode Island, because building this plant would make it impossible for the state to meet its short-, medium-, and long-term goals for carbon-emission reductions.  On March 8th, members of ECRI and other concerned Rhode Islanders will convene at the State House to say it again.  We have collected statements from a variety of ECRI members, some of which will be presented at the press conference.

All of the statements are included in the attachment below.
