2019 ECRI Annual Meeting

Monday, June 3, 2019
Slatersville Congregational Church, 25 Green Street, Slatersville, RI 02876
Renewable Energy Bus Tour: 3:30pm ~ Dinner: 5:30pm

The Annual Meeting of both ECRI and it's sister organization, the 501(c)(3) Environmental Council of Rhode Island Education Fund, will take place in the church hall of the historic Slatersville Congregational Church at the Village Green in Slatersville, RI. In our tradition of presenting opportunities to engage in environmental action, we are exploring how best to site solar arrays for electricity generation in Rhode Island, a topic of great discussion at the State House and in many communities.

This year's theme, "Renewable Energy Siting", will include a solar and hydro energy tour beginning at 3:30pm led by North Smithfield Town Planner Tom Kravitz. We will tour solar arrays in North Smithfield followed by a short visit to the Slatersville Reservoir. Along the way, we will explore the ecological costs of powering an economy and how these costs, including the loss of forests, have played out in Rhode Island's past.

The dinner (including the afternoon bus tour) is $50.00, payable at the door.
