At the Rise of the Senate, the Committee will hear testimony of S2354, legislation which would prohibit large retail sales establishments from providing plastic checkout bags and all retail establishments from providing expanded polystyrene disposable food containers enforced by municipal police departments or other municipal designees with an opt-out provision. ECRI supports this bill as a Legislative Priority for this session.
The Committee will also hear testimony on S2362, legislation which would establish minimum energy and water efficiency standards for certain products sold or installed in the state. ECRI supports this bill as part of it's Legislative Agenda for this session.
And lastly, the Committee will also hear testimony on S2654 which would prohibit PFAS, a class of fluorinated organic chemicals, from being used in food packaging. ECRI supports this bill as part of it's Legislative Agenda.
