The Environment Council of Rhode Island (ECRI) is a coalition of public interest groups and concerned citizens, serves as an advocate for environmental issues that come before the Governor, the General Assembly and state agencies.

ECRI, whose membership represents more than 45,000 voices, believes that collective, coordinated efforts are most effective for building sound environmental policies and managing resources.

ECRI, as the state affiliate of the National Wildlife Federation, establishes meaningful working relationships with members of Congress, federal agencies and non-government organizations to advance environmental protection affecting all fifty states and the world.

The CES offers Brown University students an opportunity to study environmental issues in depth by integrating several academic disciplines.
