The Environment Is Everyone's Business Rally

The Environmental Council of RI has endorsed the "Environment is Everyone’s Business Rally" on June 10th from 5-7 at the RI Statehouse South Lawn, and we would like you to join us there. Picture yourself in a group shot with 250 people (instead of 100 like this)

on the front page of Projo. All the details are below: we have a great speaker lined up featuring an expert on  Sustainable Economies and local perspectives.

Featured Speaker: Dr. Michael K. Dorsey is the Director of the Sierra Club Board and a world recognized policy advisor on global energy, environment, finance and sustainability matters. Dorsey has advised the UN, US Presidents, the  EPA and is presently serving as interim Director of the energy and environment program at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies. Dorsey was bestowed Rotary International’s highest honor, The Paul Harris Medal for Distinguished Service to Humanity.

Michael will be joined by folks from local clean energy companies, the building trades unions, universities, small businesses, faith and other community groups. People like educator Larry Purtill (National Educators Association), Asher Schofield (owner, Frog and Toad), Scott Duhamel (Building Trades Union), Malchus Mills (Direct Action for Rights and Equality), Meghan Kallman (Conceivable Future Project), Tom Cute (Amalgamated Transit Union), Lisa “Laughingheart” Reels, Ron Bennett (owner,Got Sun solar sub-contractor), Lisa Petrie (Activist/Homemaker), Greg Gerritt (Prosperity For RI), Meg Kerr (Clean Water Action, and many more.

The Eastern Medicine Singers open, closing with an epic photo op as we crowd onto the steps of the Statehouse.

This is a NOT a 501c4 event and speakers will not be endorsing nor opposing any specific legislation.  Nevertheless, key figures from the Administration and the General Assembly will be invited to join the audience and listen to the wide range of viewpoints we hope to present.  There will be tables for specific info.
